Lately I have encountered a lot of things, disappointments and situations that have been trying to take my peace away. And some days where better than others . Then I got on my knees and prayed and said Lord I don’t want to feel this way.
I was feeling anxious and overwhelmed by what was happening then the Spirit of the lord reminded me not to be anxious for anything and that encouraged me. And I was reminded of the scripture in the Bible that says in Philippians 4:6-7Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
God was reminding me to be grateful and Not to be anxious and He would give me peace that surpasses all my understanding.
If you needing peace today in the midst of chaos and you’ve been feeling anxious and overwhelmed God is saying trust Him and He will give you peace beyond all understanding.
Sometimes it’s hard to understand why things happen in our lives the way they do but always remember God is in control of anything that you are facing and whatever is trying to still your joy. Just remember whatever your going through is the foundation of great and mighty things coming your way.
~Here are some of the tips that I have been practicing that have helped me stay calm and peaceful and I know they will help you to~
Pray when anxiety strikes
When you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed and have no peace pray and surrender you feelings and emotions to God and He will fill you up with the Spirit of peace and calm every storm in your life.
Read and meditate on God’s word
Instead of wallowing in fear and anxiety feed your spirit with God’s word of truth. Meditate on God’s word and in it you will get encouraged, empowered , hopeful and inspired to face whatever has be trying to steal your peace and with God on your side no weapon formed against you shall prosper.
Patience is a virtue. When situations hit you have to remind yourself that this to shall pass. Seasons don’t last forever. Whatever your facing now is only going to make you stronger. You are living and walking in the preparation for your destiny. God has great plans for you so hold on to that. We live in a “me” and “now” generation, so the sooner you can learn to remain patient, the easier it will be to stay calm. Sometimes you just have to WAIT on the Lord.
It’s very important to train yourself to be peaceful on the inside and not try to acquire peace from the outside by trying to solve your anxieties with outward solutions. That would won’t last. You will still live in captivity of your emotions. Don’t get confused but remaining calm and peaceful is based on the inside, not by outward circumstances. Regardless of the the drama or crisis situation going on outside, you have control of the emotions going on inside. Just keep telling yourself that you are still in control of everything that is going on inside and that God has not brought this far to forsake you now.
Be Kind To Yourself
Love and be kind to yourself. Speak positively over yourself and encourage yourself. Many times I have said that it is important to like and love the person that is looking back at you in the mirror. Stop putting yourself down with negative self-talk. Respect yourself, your uniqueness , your talents, appearance, strengths and weaknesses. Being kind to yourself allows positive feelings to flow through your mind and that will produce peace in your life.
Forgive yourself and others.
Be quick to forgive yourself and others. When you forgive, it isn’t a sign of weakness and you aren’t condoning the action. Forgiveness allows you to put the situation behind you and turn off the constantly spinning wheels in your head. When you are wronged by another person or you wrong someone, you can’t ever take the words or actions back. Forgiveness is the only way of letting it all go. You will find out that Forgiveness brings about a peaceful calm within your soul. That is priceless.
Always be thankful. I know when you look in the mirror or around you, you will discover they are a lot of things to be thankful for. When you sense feelings of anxiety think of something thing good that has happened to you and be thankful. Thank God that you are a live, well and still breathing. You are going to hit rough patches many times in your journey through life but count it all joy and know that the battle is not yours but the lords. And remember in all things give thanks and know that God is always on your side and that will keep you peaceful and calm.
